Microloans

Small businesses strengthen communities.

• Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere after Haiti.

• Families can take out a microloan to help start small businesses such as bodegas, raising livestock, mending fences, seeds, farming tools, and making and selling clothes in their community.

• This is a sustainable program in that each microloan is repaid within a year with a small amount of interest which allows the program to grow each year.
